Microsoft Office 2010 Release Data

Microsoft Office 2007 is nearing end-of-life! It need to make way for the all new Office 2010 and I can't even begin to explain how exciting this is going to be!

This will be the first Microsoft Office package that will be available in 32bit and 64 bit. Together with this there will also be a new release for Microsoft Project 2010, Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010, Microsoft Visio 2010.

There will also be an exciting new addition in a Web-based form of Microsoft Office 2010. According to Microsoft this will be a free, ad-supported version. (Hopefully there will be a version without ads for the business user)

The Applications that will be included in the Office 2010 Suite are Word 14, Excel 14, Outlook 14, Powerpoint 14, Access 14, InfoPath Designer 14, InfoPath Filler 14, Publisher 14, InterConnect 14, SharePoint Designer 14, Groove 14, OneNote 14, Visio 14, and Project 14

Interesting enough Office 2010 is codenamed "14" where Office 2007 was codenamed "12". Apparently "13" was skipped because of the superstitious nature of the number.

According to Microsoft the Office 2010 release date will be in June 2010. For now you can download a free copy of the Beta version to get a feel of the product.
